Mike and Kathi Price

In 1965, Mike Price completed his education at what was then known as the College of Southern Utah. Equipped with a degree in Business Administration, he embarked on his professional journey as an accountant at Husky Oil in Cody, Wyoming. Over the next thirty years, Mike's career thrived in the oil and gas industry, as he worked for various companies with operations in Montana, Colorado, and Wyoming. Eventually, he co-founded his own trading company, which flourished and eventually became publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange through the efforts of him and his partner.

During the later stages of his career, fate intervened as Mike met Kathi on a blind date in Denver. Like him, Kathi was also involved in the petroleum industry. Mike's time at SUU was a memorable period when he worked at the school snack bar to support his education while cherishing the social connections he made through his involvement in Sigma Pi.

Now residing in St. George, Mike strongly believes in giving back to SUU as a way of paying it forward. Their estate includes a generous gift to the university. Diagnosed with polio at a young age, Mike faced the challenge of finding a college in Utah during the 1960s that catered to individuals with physical limitations. SUU stood out as the only institution providing the necessary accessibility. Mike attributes his degree from SUU as the true catalyst behind the numerous achievements and successes in his life.
